Dear Broken Hearted,
I'm so sorry for the loss of your child. I can't even imagine the pain you have gone through and are going through. I'll be thinking of you ((hugs)).
Going through the obits was a common practice at my KH and also going through birth announcements and showing up at the door (or mailing) a bible story book.
we`ve all heard it...."jehovah`s witness`s the fastest growing religon on earth!!
".....it must be true..the wbt$ says it`s true!..........................................................................................................................................how many of you remember the endless line-ups just to get into a kingdom hall, any kingdom hall?!
!..people are lined up around the block just to get in!..there are never enough seats..it`s standing room only,in every kindom hall!
Whatever happened to the JW reasoning that "the greater number will cool off" ?
They use the reasoning that best suits them at that particular time. When they start doing a backslide with memberships, they pull that gem out, or the one about the "cramped and narrow road". But if membership starts increasing then they use the "small one has become a mighty nation"
They have an answer for everything
how do you read?
q 7. what can we encourage those who have strayed from the flock to do?.
106:13) it may be helpful to remind an inactive one that "the faithful and discreet slave" is dispensing excellent spiritual food.

in my mother-in-law's congregation a special pioneer was recently moved to the congregation and he gave a talk where he said he and the other elders felt there was a bad spirit in the congregation and there must be something going on that is preventing jehovah's holy spirit from operating properly.
but he didn't state explicity what the problem might be and now gossip is rife in the congregation about whether there might be a sinner or a traitor in their midst.. for many this is just the excuse they need to gossip and bad mouth others.
Sounds like a bonafide WTBS witch hunt to me. They said a similar thing in my dad's congregation this summer. Apparently the congo's service hours have been low and so it was apparent to the elders that this must be result of some brothers engaging in wrongdoing and therefore they do not have Jehovah's holy spirit. I almost had to laugh when I heard this. Ridiculous.
just a fun thread.. but you know how you go through that disney ride and forever you have that "it's a small world after all..." song permantly embeded in your head.. andy wt songs do that to you?.
i haven't been at the kh in a long time, but i have 191 - "make the truth your own" playing in my head.. geez.... .
I don't get KM songs running thru my head anymore unless someone mentions one, then its hard to get it out . So thanks Confucious
yup, been having a bit of a hard time recently and have turned to food :( i've been eating everything in sight.
thank goodness i'll be starting up with gym again, and working will get me into a routine.
just polished off a big bowl of ice cream and chocolate sauce.
Loubelle - don't be too hard on yourself - I don't think 5kgs is that big of a deal, with some elbow grease and can-do attitude, you can take that off in a month.
